- TroopTube
- The U.S. military’s (censored) version of YouTube.
More than a year after U.S. troops were banned from using YouTube and similar sites because of bandwith, security (and P.R.) concerns, the U.S. military launched TroopTube – a video-sharing site “designed to help military families connect and keep in touch while miles apart.”
Videos can be uploaded from anywhere in the world but, according to The Associated Press, all material is vetted by the Pentagon for “taste, copyright violations, and national security issues.”
